The Gold Coast Australia - It's More Than Beautiful Sandy Beaches

The Gold Coast of Queensland Australia is reputed as being Australia's favorite tourism destinations and there are many reasons why, including the temperate climate and long stretching sandy beaches. But that's far from all, let's take quick a look.

If we look down onto the geography of region, which stretches across the south east corner of Queensland, Australia's sunshine state, it is actually quite diverse. On one side it features a long stretching coastline facing the South Pacific Ocean and on it's inland side is a series of spectacular mountain ranges.

The long coastline featuring famous sandy beaches also offers magnificent broadwater and marine areas, popular with boat lovers and for fishing, kayaking, diving and a range of water based activities.

South Stradbroke Island is just a boat hop across the Broadwater and offers four resorts, camping and is also popular with day visitors just wanting to see and explore the undeveloped open ocean beachfront and natural attractions.

The Gold Coast features a range of top surfing locations including the Spit, Narrowneck, Burleigh, Kirra, Snapper Rocks and Duranbah. There are also several learn to surf schools if your keen to try for the first time.

People who enjoy fishing will love the area for its canal fishing, river fishing, beach fishing and right out to the deep water ocean fishing. There are plenty of friendly spots for bank fishing and small boats are easily hired, or if the deep water big fish is your thing try one of the many charter boats that are ready to go after the action.

Moving back to land, the region features magnificent National Parks - Springbrook, Lamington and Tamborine which feature beautiful sub-tropical rainforests with established facilities including picnic areas, nature walks and spectacular lookouts. Many of these areas are world heritage listed and are a must see part of the area.

The Hinterland region is also popular for its growing wine industry and many tours are available of the various wineries and their scenic locations.

Four theme parks provide hours and hours, if not days, of entertainment value with something for everyone. The four theme parks are Movie World, Wet 'n' Wild, Sea World and Dreamworld.

Adventure attractions are endless and include motor bike tours, parasailing, sky diving, hot air ballooning, jet skiing, power boating, helicopter tours, go karting and motor racing.

The Gold Coast is also home to over 20 of Australia's leading golf resorts with picturesque backdrops and meticulously manicured greens.

Surfers Paradise, the central suburb of the region, comes alive at night with clubs open to the early hours. The suburb is world renowned for its entertaining party atmosphere.

There are over 500 restaurants on the Coast! Main Beach and Broadbeach are popular for their main streets lined with quality restaurants serving for all tastes in ambient relaxing surroundings.

Whether it's relaxing on the beach and simply doing nothing, nature exploring, deep sea fishing, scenic tours, action or adventure, the Gold Coast has it. It truly is one of the world's unique locations that welcomes all cultures and nationalities, and that can offer something for everybody's taste and desire.
